In 2106 she received her PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and throughout her career she has been part of research teams at the video coding company <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>V-Nova<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, in London, and at the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Biocomputing Unit of the National Biotechnology Center of CSIC<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, in Madrid. He has also taught at the Carlos III University and the San Pablo CEU University in Madrid, with more than 500 hours of teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Immersive therapy for the treatment of phobias<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Attendees at &#8216;BioMed&amp;Tech Talks&#8217;<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, which will be held <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>over two days at the Hospital Cl\u00ednico Universitario San Cecilio in Granada, will <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">be able to witness in person the revolutionary projects being worked on by Nokia Spain, XR Lab, which will install <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>two demos on immersive therapy and immersive communications<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The first of these will be the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>recreation of an immersive behavioral therapy for the treatment of phobias in individuals with intellectual disabilities<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Basically, what &#8216;The Owl&#8217; or &#8216;The Owl&#8217; allows is that <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>a person who is miles away <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">can <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>teleport to our side<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. To achieve this goal, a combination of immersive audiovisual technologies (mixed reality, VR, AR, 360 video), video transmission, and knowledge of the underlying network is used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>fields of application <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">for this communication concept are <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>manifold<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. In the case of the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>healthcare sector <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">it can be used for <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>enriched remote training<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, allowing more interaction with other students and teachers, and physical and digital elements; or <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>complex training spaces<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, such as an operating room, drastically reducing logistics and cost. Similarly, for <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>conducting therapy and\/or monitoring <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">to achieve a closer and more immersive experience, knowing more details between interlocutors, e.g. direct face-to-face contact, full view of the person and room, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Innovative format for a high-level event<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Hospital Cl\u00ednico Universitario San Cecilio<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, located in the Granada Health Technology Park, will host the first edition of <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>&#8216;BioMed &amp;Tech Talks&#8217;: Your appointment with research and innovation<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, a new independent, transversal, international and multidisciplinary event that <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>from April 8 to 11, 2024<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, coinciding with the World Health Day and Week, will give visibility to innovative projects in BioMedicine and BioTechnology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The agenda will include <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>two face-to-face sessions (Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 April) and two virtual sessions (10 and 11)<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.
